None of the damage was disclosed in the description or during the auction.
Buyers beware. As an avid glass collector, "excellent" is reserved for items free of chips and cracks. I own hundreds of pieces over 100 years old that are still in excellent condition. Age does not excuse damage, and it's the seller's responsibility to accurately inspect and describe what they're selling.
Their response: "We try hard to inspect each piece for any significant imperfections, but with the volume of items we source, it's impossible to scrutinize each piece as a new owner may do. That, and with all vintage items being 20+ years old, and antique being 100+ years old, they all show some signs of use and wear, that's what gives them their charm...My interpretation of "excellent condition" means the item is incredibly well-preserved for its age but not completely flawless."Wow. This make us very sad. We offered a sincere apology & a full refund once the item is returned for inspection. We're human. We're doing our best to navigate this new venture into Whatnot, & would never knowingly attempt to hide flaws or be deceptive in anyway, & it's hurtful for someone to imply otherwise. Even in the photos provided, we couldn't really see the "damage" cited. Again, we're genuinely sorry that the item you received wasn't satisfactory.
