Reviews (1,499)Lost and found notice: One perfectly normal hobby life, last seen shortly before discovering Cresgems on Whatnot.
Previous owner had little to no interest in obscure tokens, unusual medals or small pieces of metal bearing the face of a monarch who died 140 years ago.
Current status: has developed suspiciously specific interests.
He now gets excited by medals from countries he’s never visited, tokens from transport systems that haven’t existed for decades and occasionally shows his Mrs a coin while saying “look at the condition on that” as though she has any idea what she’s supposed to be looking at.
Attempts to restore previous interests have been unsuccessful.
The situation worsens whenever Cres produces one of his wonderfully random antiques and says something along the lines of “this is a nice little thing.”
Strangely, the owner appears perfectly happy with this arrangement.
If found, please do not return. Cres is probably live. After missing Saturday’s Banker show while away, my bank balance briefly got the dangerous impression it might survive the week. Cres soon corrected that with a Wednesday Token Show.
I compensated by buying German medals covering everything from bowling to hill walking — apparently my collection now needs representation from every hobby invented.
One bowling medal featured a rather generously proportioned lady mid-throw. I’d love to claim it was the sporting history that caught my eye, but I suspect my subconscious noticed the assets first.
Amongst the usual banter Cres casually informed me that SolwaySwanBullion had mentioned me on YouTube, apparently praising “Mark and his BOOOs.” So it seems the heckling has now escaped Whatnot and gone public. Fame at last.
Another cracking show and the usual things I had no intention of collecting until Cres put them on screen.
