We looked into the specs for those releases. Because Topps and Panini printed those sets on thinner card stock, they sit looser in standard slab wells.
Graders build in that extra space for "breathing room" to prevent pinching, warping, or creasing during temperature and humidity changes. Edges stay completely safe, though I get why it looks off at first glance.
