I’m tucked in bed at my grandparents house in 2008 and they never sleep with any lights on in the house. I’m scared shitless as a 7 year old. The sound of that old grandfather clock… the fridge… all of it adds up. It’s just as scary now as it was then. Except my grandfather is dead and my grandma moved houses. But I still think about it.
