While the older folks will instantly know this book, it was from a time if you died in a comic book, you were pretty much dead. No takebacks, do overs, or mulligans. We all know Supes is alive, and kicking so why even bring this up? Well that's because Ian masterfully recreated the cover of that book on a 2.5x3.5 inch piece of cardboard. It's absolutely gorgeous, evoking the raw emotion of seeing that cover as if for the first time again when I opened the package. This card really is a testament to his skill as an artist. Drawing that small is no easy feat as it is...but the whole cover?! From the fire escape railings on the brick buildings to the shattered glass windows...to the tie blowing in the wind from the man standing near the door on the far left to the remnants of his cape, turned into a flag. It's all here, and then some. It really is a masterpiece that I hope everyone can see. Truly above and beyond, thanks again Ian. We have a stunning pencils only drawing of Clayface, which not only captures the essence of the character, but also brings this black and white sketch card to life with photo realism which adds another layer to the unique nature of the card. The other card is John Constantine, which turned out fantastic too! Holding a fireball in one hand to illuminate the darkness of the black background really does give off the "Hellblazer" vibes! Seriously...if you're reading this and looking for "The Bargain Basement" on sketch cards you found it. $5 for a card might seem like it's going to be potato quality or it's just too good to be true, but the reality is that this deal is exactly what it says it is. A quick sketch of your favorite character(s) at a budget friendly price. I definitely recommend checking out the schedule for the next time these are available. Also don't forget to check out his IG for examples of his "Fully Rendered Cards" if you're looking for a full card or comic cover commission too! Something new (and occasional) to his shop, a 15 minute black and white sketch of a character of your choosing for $5?!
