The grilled cheese store seemed normal until I realized the sandwiches were staring back. The bread had tiny teeth. The cashier smiled too wide and said, ‘Don’t let it follow you home.’ I heard whispering behind me, but no one was there—just rows of slowly breathing grilled cheeses. I ate mine anyway.
