Vintage U.S. Navy Amphibious Squadron One wall plaque measuring approximately 9" tall x 7" wide. Features a dimensional painted metal command crest mounted on a shaped wooden shield with crossed swords, anchors, amphibious assault symbol and large red Roman numeral I. Marked COMPHIBRON ONE with the older motto “CANERE SPONTE AORUM.” Amphibious Squadron One was established in 1954 and remains an active U.S. Navy command. Rear has original hanging hardware. A distinctive piece of Navy, amphibious warfare and Cold War-era military memorabilia. Wood shield shows scattered scratches, edge wear, small nicks and finish loss. Dimensional crest has surface dirt, spotting, discoloration, paint wear and minor abrasions consistent with age. See pictures for further details on condition.
