Size: 110 g (sizes vary) Smoky amethyst is a variety of quartz that contains both the iron impurities of amethyst and the aluminum impurities of smoky quartz. It forms in igneous environments where silica-rich fluids crystallize, and natural geological radiation activates color centers within these impurities. The purple tones come from iron, while the smoky coloration results from irradiated aluminum within the crystal structure. These scepter formations typically show a larger crystal head over a narrower stem, with a mix of violet and grey tones and visible internal zoning. Each item is unique in shape, color, and pattern.
