Original publisher’s tan cloth, spines lettered in black; illustrated throughout with photographic plates, line drawings, and maps (including large folding map of the Nile Valley). A complete set of Budge’s ambitious survey of Egyptian history from the prehistoric period through the later dynasties, issued as part of the “Books on Egypt and Chaldaea” series. The work was written by E. A. Wallis Budge, Keeper of Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities at the British Museum, and reflects early twentieth-century Egyptology, with numerous reproductions of monuments, reliefs, inscriptions, and artifacts drawn from the Museum’s collections and contemporary excavations. Condition: A sound, complete set in original cloth. Bindings show light-minor shelf wear, rubbing at extremities. Volumes 1-3 with splitting or cracking to inner text block and pencil markings throughout from use; other volumes remain tight with no markings, text blocks generally firm. Pages clean overall
