Product Details

Antique Homan Silver Plate Co. quadruple silver-plated serving tray, model No. 1674, made in Cincinnati around the turn of the 20th century. This substantial oval tray features an elaborate Rococo Revival floral and scrollwork border with raised flower buds, scrolling foliage and a deeply shaped, undulating rim. The ornate applied decoration gives the piece a particularly strong late Victorian trademark and is clearly stamped “Homan Silver Plate Co. – Warranted – Quadruple Plate,” No. 1674, along with the company’s “Special Metal” mark. Based on the company name and documented period records, this mark dates the piece to approximately 1896–1905, making it a genuine antique rather than a later vintage reproduction. Measures approximately 13” long × 6” wide × 1½” high. This is silver plate retains its naturally aged surface with tarnish, scratching and other wear consistent with more than a century of use. Please see photos.
