Ancient Roman Imperial silver denarius of Emperor Antoninus Pius, struck at Rome circa AD 140–143. Obverse features the laureate portrait of Antoninus Pius with ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III legend. Reverse features GENIO SENATVS, depicting the Genius of the Roman Senate standing left, holding a branch and short sceptre. RIC III 69c. Approximately 18.4 mm and 3.56 grams. Attractive substantial ancient silver coin with a strong portrait, much of the legends visible and a recognizable reverse. Natural ancient wear and surface marks as shown. Over 1,880 years old.
