Eerie Magazine #2, published in March 1966 by Warren Publishing. Despite being the second issue, this is historically considered the first officially distributed, full-sized retail issue of the legendary horror anthology series. The iconic painted cover art is by the legendary Frank Frazetta. Issue #1 was actually a rushed, 200-copy "ashcan" edition printed overnight in 1965 strictly for legal purposes—to secure the trademark name "Eerie" from a rival publisher. Because the public never got to buy issue #1, Warren Publishing labeled this first newsstand release as the "Collector's Edition!". Creative Lineup: Largely written by Archie Goodwin. It also features stories illustrated by legendary comic book artists like Alex Toth, Gene Colan, John Severin, Reed Crandall, Gray Morrow, and Joe Orlando. The Host: This issue features the first appearance of Cousin Eerie, the decaying, ghoul-like mascot who hosts and introduces each individual story.
