Large reproduction of the historic Horatio Gates Comitia Americana medal, honoring the American victory at Saratoga and British General Burgoyne’s surrender in 1777. Obverse features a detailed portrait of Major General Horatio Gates with “HORATIO GATES DUCI STRENUO – COMITIA AMERICANA.” Reverse depicts the surrender scene with “SALUS REGIONUM SEPTENTRIONAL.” A striking Revolutionary War collectible with strong relief and an aged silver-tone finish. Modern reproduction, not an original 18th-century medal. Housed in protective capsule. See photos for exact condition. Metal: Appears to be pewter/tin-based alloy, like the previous medal. I would not advertise it as silver without a metal test or documentation.
