Official U.S. Mint General Daniel Morgan pewter reproduction from the vintage America’s First Medals series honoring Congressional medals of the American Revolution. Commemorates Morgan’s decisive victory over British forces at the Battle of Cowpens, January 17, 1781. Obverse depicts Morgan receiving a laurel crown from a symbolic Native American figure representing America. Reverse features the dramatic Cowpens battle scene with the Latin legend VICTORIA LIBERTATIS VINDEX (“Victory, the vindicator of liberty”).
