Pair of original vintage Broadway Playbills from New York’s Majestic Theatre, each approx. 9" x 6.5". Includes South Pacific, week of Dec. 29, 1952, starring Martha Wright and George Britton, and Happy Hunting, week of May 20, 1957, starring Ethel Merman and Fernando Lamas. Both contain original cast information plus wonderful period advertising for automobiles, cigarettes, perfume, fashion and more. South Pacific was the Rodgers & Hammerstein landmark musical; Happy Hunting featured Merman’s Broadway return and earned Tony nominations for Merman and Lamas. Both are in vintage used condition with age toning, scattered foxing/spotting, edge and corner wear, small creases and other handling wear. The South Pacific issue shows heavier overall toning and wear, including small edge imperfections. The Happy Hunting issue also has age spotting and shows wear/separation and paper loss around portions of the lower spine/interior binding area. See pictures for further details on condition.
