Product Details

This is an original vintage 3-coin registering / slot savings bank (c. 1920s-1930s), manufactured by the Bankers Utilities Co., Inc. of San Francisco, California. Constructed from heavy nickel-plated brass/metal with a top spring hinge, the front face features three separate slots and calibrated vertical sight windows for Dimes, Nickels, and Quarters to track cumulative savings totals. The lower front features an original riveted brass institution nameplate reading: "THE OLD RELIABLE / FIRST NATIONAL BANK / NORTH EAST, PENNA." The reverse side is stamped in circular relief with the classic motto "THRIFT PAYS DIVIDENDS" encircled by dollar signs ($). The bottom rim is stamped "BANKERS UTILITIES CO. INC. / PAT. APPL'D FOR / SAN FRANCISCO". Condition is very good vintage with solid structural integrity, intact spring-hinge tension, clear denomination markings, and honest surface scuffs, light scratches, and age patina to the nickel plating (no key included). See pics for size and condition reference.
