Wonderful old-fashioned Christmas Nativity featuring a lightweight cardboard/paperboard stable decorated with lithographed stonework and thatched-roof details. A die-cut star appears at the peak of the stable. Inside is a single molded Holy Family Nativity grouping depicting Mary and Joseph gathered around Baby Jesus, with lamb/sheep details surrounding the manger. Figures appear to be chalkware/composition with softly painted pastel colors. Likely circa 1940s–1950s, although no maker or country mark is visible to confirm exact age. ⚠️ CONDITION / PROJECT PIECE: The cardboard stable has considerable age-related wear and is currently unstable and in need of repair/reinforcement. The chalkware Nativity grouping has also come unglued from the base and is currently loose. There is wear, staining, bending, losses and deterioration to the paper/cardboard structure consistent with age. Selling AS IS for restoration or display. Please review all photos carefully.
