Original 1946 wooden Guest Log, approx. 9 x 6.5 in., with hinged wood covers, rawhide/leather lacing and “Rules of This Tavern” panel. Filled with dozens of handwritten names, addresses and dated July-August 1946 entries. Research strongly supports entries for future U.S. Congressman and publisher Edward H. Jenison and Kennedy-family physician Dr. Roy J. Heffernan; other likely notable guests include sociologist/author Lyford P. Edwards and Hollywood art director Jack Kerness. Additional unidentified guests may prove notable with further research. An unusual 1940s Americana autograph and social-history archive. Wooden covers show scratches, stains, discoloration, edge wear and small marks. Interior pages have toning, spotting, stains, ink transfer, handwriting and other wear consistent with an actively used 1946 guest register. See pictures for further details on condition.
