Tremar Pottery was established in Cornwall, England, during the early 1970s by Roger Cock and Malcolm Wright, operating out of a former Methodist chapel near Liskeard. The pottery gained widespread popularity for its charming, rustic earthenware figures and animal sculptures, typically characterized by rich, earthy glazes. Their production often featured whimsical depictions of historical characters, local workers, and military personnel that captured the nostalgic mood of the era. Production ceased in the late 1980s, leaving behind a beloved legacy of Cornish studio pottery that remains highly collectible today. The military series, including French Foreign Legion soldiers and other historical tropes, showcased the studio's skill in molded stoneware with hand-applied coloration.
