Pre-Columbian Jalisco San Juanito Style Pottery Female Figure Jalisco, Mexico ca. 100 BCE–250 CE This impressive hollow pottery figure represents a standing female rendered in the distinctive San Juanito style of ancient West Mexico. She is depicted with an elongated head, prominent nose, appliqué ear ornaments, and raised arms. Traces of red pigment remain visible across the lower body and feet, while extensive mineral deposits and burial accretions attest to the figure’s great antiquity. Height: 13 7/8 in.
