Pre-Columbian Moche IV Pottery Bottle Moche Culture, Peru, Phase IV, ca. 300–600 CE Exceptional Moche Phase IV pottery bottle featuring a globular body, tall spout with strap handle, painted bird motifs encircling the shoulder, and a finely modeled bird appliqué. The vessel retains its original red, cream, and brown painted decoration with an attractive ancient surface. Bird imagery held symbolic importance in Moche art, representing power, fertility, and the connection between the earthly and supernatural worlds.
