This is an antique cast iron and tin wall-mounted coffee grinder / mill mounted on an early green painted wood board (c. late 19th century). Featuring heavy cast iron grinding mechanism housing stamped with a size mark "1", it includes an S-curved cast iron hand crank with a turned wooden knob and an attached triangular sheet-tin grain hopper stamped with an oval embossed emblem. The grinder is mounted to a primitive rectangular wooden backboard retaining remnants of its original green wash/paint. The backboard measures approximately 9 1/2 inches long by 6 1/2 inches wide. Condition is primitive and rustic; the cast iron mechanism turns smoothly, showing natural surface oxidation, aging, and multiple empty mounting holes in the wood board from historical installations.
