Beautiful vintage Japanese porcelain shallow bowl featuring a richly detailed floral design with a striking turquoise border, burgundy peonies, scrolling motifs and Asian-inspired decoration. The porcelain is set into a substantial heavy metal/pewter-tone encasement, giving the piece wonderful weight and presence. Bottom is marked: Japanese Porcelain Ware Decorated in Hong Kong (ISCO) A Likely dates to approximately the 1960s–1970s. Porcelain itself is in good vintage condition with no obvious chips or cracks noted. There is visible wear/loss to portions of the painted decoration in the center, particularly beneath the floral design. Please review close-up photos carefully; this is reflected in the price.
