Pre-Columbian Colima Palanquin Whistle West Mexico, ca. 100 BCE – 250 CE Fantastic Colima pottery whistle showing a high-status figure seated in a palanquin, carried by four attendants in motion. Great multi-figure composition with strong presence—classic West Mexican shaft tomb scene reflecting status and ceremony. Hollow form with working whistle opening at the rear. Nice earthen encrustation with traces of original pigment. Size: 7 1/4" H × 3 7/8" W × 4 7/8" D Rare narrative example—hard to find this level of complexity in Colima pieces.
