Product Details

An affordable piece of 18th-century Dutch silver with nearly 250 years of history. Struck for the Province of Holland in 1780, this “double wapenstuiver” displays HOLLANDIA and the date on one side, with the crowned Holland lion dividing the denomination 2-S on the other. The rosette mintmark identifies Dordrecht. Standard type specifications are .583 silver, about 1.62 g and 19.6 mm; KM#48. Photo grade: Fine Details. The full 1780 date and HOLLANDIA lettering remain bold, while the crown and lion are clearly identifiable despite honest circulation wear. Surfaces appear previously cleaned and show extensive hairlines, scattered marks, dark deposits and environmental roughness/porosity. There is also typical flan and strike irregularity around the edge. Uncertified; grade and attribution are opinions based on the photos. Exact coin shown—please review all images carefully. An appealing, budget-friendly survivor from the Dutch Republic.
