Product Details

Big, classic South American silver with a beautiful Seated Liberty design. This is the 1888-TF Peru 1 Sol struck at the Lima Mint, KM#196.24—the regular TF variety, not the scarcer TF/BF over-assayer. Original specifications: 25 g, 37 mm and .900 fine silver (0.7234 troy oz ASW). It retains strong detail in Liberty’s drapery and shield, plus the llama, cinchona tree and cornucopia in Peru’s national arms. My photo grade is approximately XF45–AU50 Details. The surfaces show an old cleaning/wiping with fine hairlines, along with normal circulation marks and gray-gold toning; please use the photos as the final condition guide. Uncertified. A substantial 19th-century crown-sized coin with nearly three-quarters of a troy ounce of silver and plenty of historic character—an affordable standout for a world-silver or Latin American collection. The coin pictured is the exact coin you will receive.
