Absolutely gorgeous circa 1935–1945 sterling silver floral bouquet brooch, beautifully constructed with colorful enamel flowers and foliage gathered by a dramatic cobalt-blue enamel ribbon bow. The dimensional bouquet features warm orange and red shaded blossoms with rich green enamel leaves. The flowers are accented with sparkling marcasites, which continue through the sweeping silver foliage and long ribbon tails. The combination of marcasite and brightly colored enamel creates a wonderful contrast against the oxidized sterling details. The reverse is clearly stamped STERLING and retains its long straight pin stem with an early locking safety-style catch. The construction and findings, together with the materials and design, are consistent with late Art Deco into the WWII era, approximately the late 1930s–1940s.
