This fabulous circa 1960s articulated gecko brooch is constructed from individually set rhinestones arranged in flexible linked rows, creating the gecko’s long body, outstretched legs and wonderfully curled tail. The striking palette combines vivid turquoise/aqua and chartreuse-green rhinestones, clear accents, and a dramatic marquise-cut amber/brown stone at the head. Its articulated construction allows portions of the gecko to move, giving the piece wonderful dimension and character. The reverse features a long pin stem with a safety/rollover-style clasp, consistent with mid-century construction and supporting a late 1950s–1960s date, most likely circa 1960s.
